Patna: Students in Bihar government schools will soon get access to round-the-clock online academic support as the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) prepares to launch a digital learning app under a new education model.
The pilot project of the digital learning platform will begin on August 15 across 155 model schools in the state. The initiative aims to provide students, especially those in rural and remote areas, with access to subject teachers beyond regular classroom hours.
Digital Platform To Support Classes 9-12 Students
The facility will initially be available to students of classes 9 to 12. A trial of the system is currently underway at Government Girls’ Secondary High School, Shastrinagar, Patna.
Officials said that after evaluating the pilot project’s results, the platform may be expanded to all 688 model schools across Bihar.
Students To Receive Individual Login Access
Under the new system, students will be provided unique login IDs and passwords through their respective schools.
Students will be able to raise questions through voice or text. For privacy and security reasons, students’ video feeds will not be visible during online sessions, while teachers will interact through live video and use digital boards for explanations.
Students Can Book Time Slots For Queries
The platform will allow students to schedule sessions according to their convenience. At the selected time, a trained subject teacher will join the online session to address their questions.
Teachers will be assigned in shifts to ensure availability throughout the day.
BSEB Plans Phased Expansion
Bihar School Examination Board Chairman Dr Thiyagarajan SM said the initiative would be introduced in phases.
“If the implementation is successful in model schools, the facility will be extended to other government schools as well,” he said.
The board expects the digital learning model to make academic support more accessible and provide students with an interactive learning experience.
