Patna: Srishti Environment Club, in collaboration with the Department of Geography and the ECO Task Force of Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, organised a Campus Conservation Drive on July 25, 2026, to promote environmental sustainability and civic responsibility.
The drive saw participation from 320 students from various departments, including Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce (Accounting & Finance), and Commerce (Taxation & Auditing).
Students Conduct Cleanliness Drive
As part of the initiative, students carried out a cleanliness drive across the college campus, collecting waste and working towards maintaining a cleaner and healthier environment.
The programme aimed to encourage students to take individual responsibility for environmental conservation and adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
Focus On Sustainable Practices
The institution said the initiative reflected its commitment towards creating environmentally conscious citizens and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to sustainable cities, responsible consumption, and climate action.
The drive also highlighted the role of students in promoting environmental awareness within their communities.
Faculty Support And Coordination
Faculty members from the participating departments supported the initiative and contributed to the successful organisation of the programme.
The event was coordinated under the guidance of Dr Sumeet Ranjan, Head of the Department of Zoology and Vice President of the ECO Task Force, Patna Women’s College, and Meenakshi Mishra, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography and Coordinator of the Srishti Environment Club.
The coordinators appreciated the participation of students and emphasised the importance of such initiatives in encouraging long-term commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable living.
