Patna: A major search operation is underway in Begusarai after five minor girls went missing from a girls’ shelter home in the Ratanpur police station area, triggering an investigation into the circumstances surrounding their disappearance.
The girls were reported missing on Sunday morning, prompting the district administration and police to launch an immediate search and issue an alert across the district.
SP Personally Oversees Investigation
Begusarai Superintendent of Police Manish visited the shelter home after receiving information about the incident and questioned the warden and other staff members.
Police are investigating how the girls left the facility and whether their disappearance involved any external assistance or criminal conspiracy.
CCTV Footage And Technical Evidence Under Examination
Police have formed special teams to trace the missing girls and are conducting searches in the surrounding areas.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the shelter home and nearby locations, while a surveillance team is analysing technical evidence to establish the girls’ movements before they went missing.
Search Expanded To Railway Stations And Bus Stands
The search operation is being carried out in coordination with the District Child Protection Unit and the Child Welfare Committee.
Police teams have been deployed at railway stations, bus terminals and other locations where the girls may have travelled.
Officials said the safe recovery of the five minors remains their highest priority and that all possible angles are being investigated.
Security Arrangements Under Scrutiny
No trace of the girls had been found at the time of reporting.
The incident has also raised questions about security arrangements at the shelter home. Police said the investigation would examine whether there were any lapses in supervision or security that may have contributed to the girls’ disappearance.
Authorities said further action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation once the missing girls are located.
