Bodh Gaya: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya marked India’s 80th Independence Day on August 15 with a series of events bringing together students, faculty and staff on campus.
The celebrations focused on the values of responsibility, discipline and unity, while also reflecting on the institute’s 11-year journey from a small student cohort to an institution with growing national and global aspirations.
Flag Hoisting And Address
The programme began with the hoisting of the national flag by IIM Bodh Gaya Director Dr Vinita S. Sahay, followed by the National Anthem.
Addressing the gathering, Sahay stressed the importance of intention, discipline and consistency in achieving meaningful and sustainable progress.
“The right intention, supported by discipline and consistent effort, is essential for achieving meaningful and sustainable progress,” she said.
Reflecting on the institute’s development, Sahay said IIM Bodh Gaya had grown from a cohort of 30 students into an institution with expanding national and global aspirations.
“Our journey ahead is driven by the spirit to ‘Go Fly, Soar High’,” she said, while encouraging students to contribute positively to the organisations, communities and institutions they become part of.
Academic And Institutional Growth
IIM Bodh Gaya said it has continued to strengthen its academic standing and expand its institutional footprint over the past 11 years.
The institute is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), which places it among approximately the top 6% of business schools globally, according to the institute.
The institution said its focus remains on strengthening its academic profile while pursuing wider national and international engagement.
Cultural And Sports Programmes
The Independence Day programme also featured a Tug of War competition and a range of cultural activities.
Students and members of the IIM Bodh Gaya community participated in yoga, traditional performances, patriotic presentations, music and dance programmes.
A skit on “Say No to Drugs” was also staged to raise awareness about substance abuse.
The institute said the celebrations reflected its broader commitment to preparing capable and responsible leaders who can contribute to organisations, communities and the country.
