CM Samrat Choudhary Announces 18 Major Measures, Sets Target Of Jobs For 1 Crore Youths By 2030

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced measures covering employment, education, healthcare, infrastructure, investment, electricity and public services from Gandhi Maidan on Independence Day.

Patna: Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced 18 measures for Bihar’s development on Independence Day, covering employment, education, healthcare, infrastructure, investment, agriculture and public services.

Speaking from Gandhi Maidan, Choudhary said the state government aims to provide government jobs and employment opportunities to one crore youths by 2030.

The announcements also include a new student grievance portal, free competitive-exam coaching, home-based medical care for people aged above 80, 12 greenfield satellite townships and a target of attracting Rs 5 lakh crore in investment.

18 Major Measures Announced

  1. Jobs And Employment For One Crore Youths By 2030

The state government has set a target of providing government jobs and employment to one crore youths by 2030. A Bihar Youth Policy will also be formulated for the overall development of young people, with the State Youth Commission overseeing its implementation.

  1. Vidyarthi Sahyog Portal From August 17

The Vidyarthi Sahyog Portal will be launched on August 17. Students will be able to register complaints related to academics, institutions, hostels, coaching and other issues online. The government has set a 30-day deadline for grievance redressal.

  1. State-Level Examination Reform Committee

A state-level examination reform committee will be constituted to make examinations more transparent, fair and modern. A separate high-level committee will also work on improving the quality of education.

  1. Free Coaching In 551 Schools

Free coaching for competitive entrance examinations, including IIT-JEE and NEET, will be arranged in 551 Saraswati Vidya Niketan schools across Bihar.

  1. Home-Based Medical Care For Elderly Citizens

The government plans to provide medical services at home for citizens aged above 80. District hospitals will also provide facilities for around 36 types of surgeries, with efforts to reduce unnecessary referrals.

  1. Tirupati Balaji Temple In Mokama

A Tirupati Balaji Temple will be constructed on 10 acres of land in Mokama, Patna. The project will be undertaken by the Tirupati Balaji Trust.

  1. Son-Phalgu River Interlinking Plan

An action plan will be prepared to interlink the Son and Phalgu rivers. The government also said work on the Kosi-Mechi link project is underway at an estimated cost of Rs 6,282 crore.

  1. Rs 5 Lakh Crore Investment Target

Bihar has set a target of attracting Rs 5 lakh crore in investment to support industrial development. Under the state’s semiconductor policy, the government aims to develop Bihar as a major semiconductor industry hub by 2030.

  1. 25 New Sugar Mills

The government plans to establish 25 new sugar mills for sugarcane farmers. Ten mills have already started operations, while five more are targeted to become operational within the next six months.

  1. 125 Units Of Free Electricity Every Month

Consumers are being provided 125 units of free electricity every month under the Mukhyamantri Vidyut Sahayata Yojana.

  1. Rooftop Solar For 25 Lakh Households

Free rooftop solar systems are being installed for 4.83 lakh BPL families under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. The government has set a target of installing rooftop solar systems in 25 lakh households by 2027.

  1. 12 Greenfield Satellite Townships

Twelve greenfield satellite townships will be developed in Patna, Sonepur, Gaya, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Purnia, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Chhapra, Bhagalpur, Sitamarhi and Dehri. Master plans for the townships are currently being prepared.

  1. 589 Km Of Expressways And High-Speed Corridors

Work is underway on five expressways and six high-speed corridors across Bihar. Together, the projects cover around 589 km of greenfield expressways and high-speed corridors.

  1. Greenfield Airports At Sonepur And Ajgaibinath

Plans are underway to establish greenfield airports at Sonepur and Ajgaibinath Dham to improve air connectivity in the state.

  1. Degree Colleges In 211 Blocks

Degree colleges have been established in the remaining 211 blocks of Bihar. A total of 2,451 teachers have been recruited and posted to these colleges.

The government said the initiative will help students, particularly young women in rural areas, access higher education closer to their homes.

  1. Public Grievances To Be Resolved Within 30 Days

The government has set a 30-day timeframe for resolving public grievances received through Sahyog Shivirs. Of the 6,46,181 applications received so far, 95% have been resolved, according to the government.

  1. Scooties For Police Didis

The government has decided to provide scooties to Police Didis to strengthen women’s safety. They will be deployed around schools, colleges and other public places.

  1. Rs 1 Lakh Crore Financing For Greenfield Townships

An agreement for long-term financing worth Rs 1 lakh crore has been signed with HUDCO for the development of the 12 greenfield satellite townships.
