New Delhi/ Delhi : The National Testing Agency (NTA) on August 16 released the provisional answer keys for 84 subjects of the UGC-NET June 2026 examination.
The agency has opened the answer-key challenge window from August 16 to August 18 until 11:59 PM. Candidates who find discrepancies in the provisional answers can submit challenges through the official NTA portal.
How Much Is the Challenge Fee?
Candidates challenging a provisional answer key will have to pay a processing fee of Rs 200 per question, according to the NTA.
The last date for submitting the challenge fee is August 18 at 11:59 PM. Candidates have been advised to check the instructions carefully before submitting their objections.
Answer Keys for Three Subjects Pending
Provisional answer keys for English, Commerce and Sociology have not been released with the other 84 subjects.
According to the NTA, a committee has been constituted to examine complaints concerning various types of errors reported in the question papers of these three subjects.
The agency said a separate public notice regarding English, Commerce and Sociology will be issued later on August 16 based on the committee’s recommendations.
Where Should Candidates Check the Answer Key?
The NTA has advised candidates to rely only on information published through its official website and verified social media handles.
Candidates should use the official examination portal to view their answer keys and submit challenges within the prescribed deadline.
What Is UGC-NET?
The UGC-NET examination is conducted to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor positions and admission to PhD programmes in universities and other higher education institutions.
The examination consists of two papers. Paper I has 50 questions covering areas such as teaching aptitude, reasoning ability and general awareness, while Paper II contains 100 subject-specific multiple-choice questions.
CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 Answer Key Also Available
The NTA has also announced that candidates who appeared for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 examination can access the provisional answer key and challenge facility.
The examination was conducted on July 17 and 18, 2026, in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
The Joint CSIR-UGC NET determines eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions and PhD admissions in institutions across India.
Candidates who appeared for UGC-NET June 2026 should check their provisional answer keys and raise objections, if necessary, within the specified window.
The challenge facility for the 84 subjects will remain available until August 18 at 11:59 PM, while candidates in English, Commerce and Sociology will need to wait for the separate notice from the NTA.
