Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated 99 projects worth Rs 22,497.73 lakh and laid the foundation stone for 112 projects amounting to Rs 26,919.17 lakh in Supaul district. As part of his visit, the Chief Minister inspected various developmental works in Ward No. 12 (Mahadalit Tola) of Maladgaon in Kishanpur block, including Chhath Ghat construction, soil cum paver block work, and installation of solar lights.
During the inspection of the public pond, the Chief Minister released fish cumin and instructed officials to build stepped ghats on all sides of the pond to facilitate rituals like Chhath Puja. He emphasized the importance of water and greenery, highlighting efforts under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Yojana to renovate public water bodies.
The Chief Minister also visited an exhibition by several government departments and inspected Primary School Malad, where he praised teachers for their innovative methods of educating children through poetry and games. The District Magistrate informed him that 105 such schools are operational in the district, along with many Anganwadi centers.
Additionally, the Chief Minister handed over the keys of battery-operated tricycles to disabled beneficiaries and released the ‘Samadhan Pustika’ for District Public Grievance Redressal. He distributed symbolic cheques and acceptance letters under various schemes, including the Bihar Student Credit Card and the Makhana Bhandar Grih Scheme, and settlement slips under the Abhiyan Basera-2 initiative.
In Saraigarh, the Chief Minister inaugurated a two-lane ROB cum approach road on National Highway No. 327A, along with other road projects in Supaul district worth several crores. He also inaugurated police station buildings and Mahila Constable Barracks constructed at a cost of Rs 24.26 crores.
The event was attended by several ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior officials, who welcomed the Chief Minister with bouquets and mementos.
