Muzaffarpur/Patna : A stir erupted in Kothia village under Kanti police station limits in Muzaffarpur district after the blood-stained body of a young man was recovered from bushes inside the restricted zone of the NTPC plant.

The body was found near Ash Dyke Lagoon-1, a restricted area within the plant premises. The deceased was identified as Shambhu Sahni, a resident of Kothia village who worked as a labourer transporting fly ash on a tractor.

Body found in bushes inside restricted area

According to reports, villagers noticed the body in the bushes and informed the police. A large number of residents gathered at the spot following the discovery.

Police reached the location, inspected the scene and began collecting information about the circumstances surrounding the death.

At present, it remains unclear whether Shambhu died in an accident or was the victim of an alleged assault.

Injury marks raise murder suspicion

Villagers claimed that injury marks were visible on the deceased’s body, including an injury to the head. This has raised suspicion that he may have been killed following a dispute.

However, police have not confirmed murder at this stage. Investigators are considering multiple possibilities, including an accident involving an unidentified vehicle.

Illegal fly ash extraction angle under investigation

Villagers alleged that extraction of fly ash from Lagoon-1 is prohibited, but claimed that some groups involved in illegal ash extraction operate in the area at night.

According to local accounts, Shambhu worked in connection with fly ash transportation and may have entered the restricted area on Tuesday night.

Police are examining these claims as part of the investigation and are questioning local residents and the deceased’s family to establish where Shambhu had gone and who he was with before his death.

Police collect evidence, question locals

After reaching the scene, police examined the location and gathered information from villagers and family members.

Investigators are trying to establish when Shambhu was last seen, who accompanied him and what happened before his body was found.

Post-mortem report expected to clarify cause of death

Police have taken custody of the body and initiated the process of sending it for post-mortem examination.

The post-mortem findings, along with evidence collected from the scene and statements recorded during the investigation, are expected to establish the cause and circumstances of death.

For now, police are investigating all possible angles, including accidental death and suspected murder.
