Transfer-Posting of 3.85 Lakh Bihar Teachers Delayed to December-January Due to Software Issues
Patna: Transfer-posting for 3.85 lakh teachers in Bihar has been postponed from October to December and January due to delays in the transfer software development. Education Minister Sunil Kumar indicated that the software would be completed by the end of October; however, with Diwali and Chhath holidays extending until November 10, the software is now expected to be ready by mid-November, followed by a 10-day trial phase. Teachers will then be given one month to apply for transfers.
School assignments for teachers will be determined through a randomization process, ensuring alignment with available seats within each panchayat. Teachers appointed by the commission who do not wish to transfer will not need to apply. Meanwhile, the Education Department has restricted teachers from non-teaching duties and halted deputations, except in cases approved by district-level committees. These limited deputations will follow an auto-generated format and last no more than three months.
Additionally, in light of the Diwali and Chhath festivals, teachers’ training has been postponed from October 28 to November 9 across Bihar, resuming on November 11. District-level education authorities have been instructed to submit training reports covering the period from April 1 to October 26, with over 1.20 lakh teachers having completed training so far.
