Patna: The lingering effects of Cyclone Dana are still being felt across 18 districts in Bihar, with heavy rainfall forecast today in Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Khagaria, and Jamui. Meanwhile, the remaining 13 districts are expected to experience cloudy skies, with some, including Patna, Jehanabad, and Nalanda, receiving rainfall on Sunday morning.
According to the India Meteorological Department, although Cyclone Dana has weakened, its influence is likely to persist until October 31. After this period, the weather is expected to clear up. Post-Diwali, the maximum temperature across the state may rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
The Patna Meteorological Centre reports that a low-pressure system remains over northern Odisha, which is expected to weaken in the next 12 hours.
Late on Saturday night, Patna witnessed significant rainfall, along with other areas such as Lakhisarai, Nalanda, Jehanabad, Bhagalpur, Katihar, Purnia, Sheikhpura, and Begusarai. Rainfall is anticipated to continue in these regions throughout the day.
Sitamarhi recorded the highest maximum temperature in the last 24 hours, reaching 33.5°C on Saturday. In contrast, Motihari, Kishanganj, and Valmiki Garh registered the lowest minimum temperature of 20°C.
The weather is likely to remain unsettled in the coming days, with authorities advising residents in affected areas to stay prepared for further rainfall.
