Patna: Gaya is set to host the 29th Passing Out Parade of the Officers Training Academy (OTA) on September 5, where 254 cadets will complete their military training and be commissioned as officers in the Indian Army.
The parade will be attended by Lieutenant General Le Van Hoang of the Vietnam People’s Army, who will serve as the chief guest for the occasion. The event marks the culmination of a rigorous training programme designed to prepare cadets for leadership and operational responsibilities in the armed forces.
 
219 Men and 35 Women to Be Commissioned
The 254 cadets passing out from OTA Gaya include 219 men and 35 women. Following the parade, the newly commissioned officers will take up their duties at different locations across the country.
OTA Gaya is one of India’s key officers’ training establishments and plays an important role in preparing young men and women for service in the Indian Army.
Multi-Activity Display on September 4
Ahead of the Passing Out Parade, a Multi-Activity Display will be organised at OTA Gaya on September 4.
During the event, Gentleman Cadets will demonstrate the skills and physical abilities acquired during their training. The display will include combat techniques, physical feats and other military activities, offering a glimpse into the demanding training undertaken by the cadets.
Outstanding Cadets Honoured
A Commandant’s Award Ceremony was organised at the Vijay Auditorium of OTA Gaya on Tuesday to recognise cadets who performed exceptionally well during their training.
OTA Commandant Lieutenant General Sandeep Singh presented medals and awards to cadets who excelled in various areas, including physical proficiency, sports, drill, equestrian activities, weapon training and tactical skills.
Among those honoured were Akshay V. Kolhe of the Sikh Regiment for physical proficiency, Navneet Singh of the Garhwal Rifles for sports, and Swaroop Mahadev of the Rajput Regiment for physical training.
Among the female cadets, Aarushi Pandey of the Corps of Engineers was recognised for her performance. Navneet Singh of the Brigade of the Guards was honoured for drill, while Sparsh Kshetri received an award for equestrian skills. P. Shashi Kumar was recognised for excellence in weapon training and tactical proficiency.
Commandant Encourages Cadets Ahead of Passing Out
Lieutenant General Sandeep Singh also addressed the cadets and encouraged them to remain prepared for the challenges of military service. He highlighted the significance of the upcoming Multi-Activity Display and Passing Out Parade.
With the commissioning of 254 cadets, September 5 will mark another important milestone for OTA Gaya and the young officers beginning their careers in the Indian Army.
