Patna: LNJP Bone Hospital in Patna is set to start an advanced Sports Injury Centre from October, according to hospital authorities.
The development follows an MoU with Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, after which a team of specialists inspected the facility and submitted its report to the Bihar Health Department.
Treatment And Rehabilitation Under One Roof
According to LNJP Hospital Director Dr Rakesh Chaudhary, the proposed centre will provide treatment for sports-related injuries along with recovery and rehabilitation services.
The facility is expected to offer integrated care for ligament, muscle and joint injuries sustained during sporting activities.
The centre will also provide arthroscopic procedures for injuries involving the shoulder, knee and ankle, hospital authorities said.
Specialist Support Planned
The proposed centre is expected to have a multidisciplinary team comprising sports physiotherapists, psychologists, trainers and dietitians.
The team will support patients through different stages of treatment and rehabilitation, including physical recovery, mental wellbeing and dietary planning.
According to the hospital, the aim is to provide specialised sports injury care locally and reduce the need for patients to seek such treatment outside the state.
Parking Facility Also Being Developed
Separately, the hospital’s new building is being equipped with a parking facility for around 200 vehicles.
The plan includes open parking for 100 vehicles and a hydraulic double-decker parking system for another 100 vehicles, according to hospital authorities.
The Sports Injury Centre is expected to begin operations from October, subject to the completion of the planned arrangements.
