Gaya/Patna: Bihar has begun exploring land around the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC), Gaya, for possible future expansion, as the state looks to strengthen industrial infrastructure and prepare the cluster for growing investment requirements.
Industries Secretary Shri Kundan Kumar inspected the ongoing development works at IMC Gaya on September 13 and reviewed the progress of construction and infrastructure projects at the site.
During the inspection, Kumar sought updates from officials on the status of the works and held a review meeting with the Project Management Agency to assess their progress, quality and timelines.
Construction Works To Be Accelerated
Kumar directed officials and the project agency to speed up the ongoing construction works and ensure that projects are completed within the stipulated timelines.
The review covered the progress of various development and infrastructure works being undertaken at the industrial cluster.
The Industries Department is focusing on timely execution as it prepares the cluster to support industrial activity and investment in the region.

Adjoining Land To Be Assessed
Alongside the ongoing development, the department is now examining the long-term expansion potential of IMC Gaya.
Kumar directed the SDM, CEO, GMDIC and DGM, Gaya, to conduct a comprehensive survey of land adjoining the IMC.
Officials will also examine the possibility of acquiring additional land and assess whether suitable parcels can be integrated with the existing industrial cluster.
An updated report on the land assessment and expansion possibilities has been sought within two days.
Expansion Plan To Include Green Areas
The proposed expansion will take into account more than the availability of additional industrial land.
Officials have been directed to consider green areas, overall land use, environmental aspects and future industrial requirements while preparing the assessment.
The objective will be to ensure that any future expansion is planned in a way that supports sustainable industrial development.
Bihar Looks At IMC Gaya’s Long-Term Potential
Kumar said IMC Gaya is emerging as an important centre for modern industrial infrastructure and investment in Bihar.
He said the state needs to accelerate the ongoing development works while simultaneously examining the cluster’s potential for future expansion.
The land survey will help the department assess how the industrial cluster could grow in line with future industrial requirements and investment opportunities.
The exercise will therefore provide the basis for determining whether additional land can be incorporated into IMC Gaya and how its future expansion can be planned.
