The number of districts under the yellow alert is expected to increase during the middle of the week, reaching 32 districts on September 16 and 17.
September 14: Yellow Alert in 18 Districts
On September 14, a yellow alert has been issued for West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria and Kishanganj.
The alert will also cover Buxar, Bhojpur, Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Arwal and Jehanabad.
Thunderstorms and strong winds of 30-40 kmph are likely in these districts.
September 15: Weather Alert Expands to 20 Districts
On September 15, the yellow alert will cover 20 districts.
These include Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Vaishali and Samastipur.
The alert will also remain in force in Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, Katihar, Khagaria, Munger, Bhagalpur, Lakhisarai, Jamui and Banka.
Residents in these areas should remain alert for thunderstorms and strong winds during the forecast period.
September 16-17: Yellow Alert Across 32 Districts
The weather alert will expand significantly on September 16 and 17, with 32 districts under the yellow alert.
The affected districts are West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Vaishali, Samastipur, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, Katihar, Patna, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Khagaria, Munger, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Nawada and Gaya.
Thunderstorms, lightning and winds of 30-40 kmph are expected in these districts.
However, Kaimur, Rohtas, Buxar, Bhojpur, Arwal and Aurangabad are expected to experience relatively normal weather during this period.
September 18: Yellow Alert Returns to 12 Districts
On September 18, the weather alert will narrow to 12 districts, mainly in northeastern and eastern Bihar.
The affected districts are Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, Katihar, Khagaria, Munger, Bhagalpur, Banka and Jamui.
Thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds of 30-40 kmph are likely in these areas.
