Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to Visit Darbhanga on 18 November, Distribute Loans Worth One Thousand Crores

Darbhanga: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to visit Darbhanga on 18 November, where a loan distribution of over one thousand crores will take place, aimed at benefiting the poor and women. The event is part of the central government’s ongoing credit outreach program, designed to offer on-the-spot loans to eligible applicants. This program sees Union ministers and officials visiting different regions with support from state governments to facilitate loan distribution.

The upcoming credit outreach program, scheduled for 18 and 19 November, will feature the presence of Finance Minister Sitharaman, who will oversee the distribution. In preparation, M. Nagaraju, Secretary of the Department of Financial Services, has requested state government cooperation, urging coordination among relevant departments to streamline the loan distribution process.

Efforts are underway by the finance department and other state agencies to ensure the program’s success. This initiative, led by the Financial Services Department, targets districts with low loan allocation rates, aiming to support individuals at the event with immediate loan approvals.

Under the program, loans are directed primarily towards women and economically disadvantaged groups, including Mudra loans and other financial inclusion schemes. Various programs supporting financial inclusion will also be offered to attendees at the event.
