Patna: The Bihar Health Department has launched the ‘Seva Sankalp Evam Kayakalp Abhiyan’ to improve basic amenities, cleanliness and infrastructure across government health institutions in the state.
The campaign will cover painting, minor repairs and improvements linked to patient convenience. The department has set October 31, 2026, as the deadline for completing all identified works.
Campaign To Cover Health Institutions Across Bihar
The initiative covers 36 district hospitals, 56 sub-divisional hospitals, 49 referral hospitals, 342 community health centres, 110 primary health centres, 844 additional primary health centres and 147 urban primary health centres, along with Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.
Funds have been made available through the accounts of Rogi Kalyan Samitis and Jan Arogya Samitis for eligible works during the 2026-27 financial year.
The department said priorities will be decided according to local requirements, with the participation of Jan Arogya Samitis.
Rural Facilities To Get Additional Infrastructure
The campaign will also include rural infrastructure works under the Vibrant Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-GRAMG), in coordination with the Rural Development Department.
The planned works include boundary walls and toilets, soil filling within health facility premises, landscaping and tree plantation.
Districts Asked To Meet October Deadline
The Health Department has directed District Magistrates and Civil Surgeons to ensure that all designated works are completed by October 31.
Officials have also been instructed to regularly monitor and review progress. Funding for the activities will primarily come from the Digital Health Incentive Scheme (DHIS) and other available budgetary heads.
Health Minister Stresses Patient Convenience
Health Minister Shri Nishant said improving healthcare facilities for every citizen of Bihar remains a government priority.
He said repairs, painting and development of essential patient amenities would help create cleaner and better-organised health centres. He also emphasised that local requirements should guide the selection of works.
The minister said strengthening primary health institutions would support the government’s objective of providing quality healthcare services closer to people’s homes.
Quality And Timely Completion Emphasised
Health Secretary Shri Kumar Ravi directed officials to ensure both timely completion and quality execution of the works.
He called for regular monitoring, effective use of available funds and adherence to the October 31 deadline so that patients can benefit from improved and more convenient government health facilities.
