Patna: Active monsoon conditions are continuing across Bihar, with the Meteorological Centre, Patna, forecasting light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in 18 districts, including Patna, during the next 24 hours.
The weather department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Jamui, Munger and Nawada. Humid conditions are likely to persist across the state, while fluctuations in temperatures are expected to continue.
According to the weather department, isolated heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places in different parts of Bihar over the next two to three days.
Patna records 10.3 mm rainfall
Several parts of Bihar received rainfall during the past 24 hours. Chautham in Khagaria recorded the highest rainfall at 72.2 mm.
On Wednesday, scattered rainfall was recorded in Patna, Gaya, Purnia, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Supaul, Motihari, Madhepura, Jeeradei and Arwal, resulting in increased humidity. Patna recorded 10.3 mm of rainfall.
Maximum temperatures increased in 17 districts, including Patna, on Wednesday. Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5°C, while the highest maximum temperature in the state was 37.3°C in Bhabua, Kaimur.
Several districts receive significant rainfall
Banka recorded 70.4 mm of rainfall, while Bahadurpur in Darbhanga received 70 mm. Hasanpur in Samastipur recorded 69.4 mm, followed by 56.2 mm in Shivajinagar, Samastipur, and 56 mm in Dhamdaha, Purnia.
Mushahari in Muzaffarpur recorded 49.8 mm, while Alamnagar in Madhepura received 49.2 mm. Taibpur in Kishanganj recorded 44.4 mm and Khutouna in Madhubani received 44.2 mm.
Warisnagar in Samastipur recorded 38.2 mm, while Jhanjharpur and Pandaul in Madhubani received 35.6 mm and 32.4 mm, respectively. Samastipur recorded 32.2 mm, followed by 31.2 mm in Alinagar, Darbhanga.
Saur Bazar in Saharsa recorded 28.2 mm, Ghanshyampur in Darbhanga 26.8 mm, Pipra in Supaul 25.4 mm, Ara in Bhojpur 24.6 mm and Rupauli in Purnia 24.4 mm.
Bokhra in Sitamarhi received 22.6 mm, Beldaur and Madhepur recorded 21.6 mm each, Baltara in Khagaria received 21.2 mm, Basua in Supaul 20.6 mm and Jandaha in Vaishali recorded 19 mm of rainfall.
Temperatures remain high in several cities
Among the major cities, Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5°C and a minimum of 27.8°C. Gaya recorded 35°C as the maximum and 25.8°C as the minimum.
Bhagalpur recorded a maximum temperature of 33.6°C and a minimum of 25.2°C, while Muzaffarpur recorded a maximum of 32.8°C and a minimum of 26.6°C.
The combination of intermittent rainfall and relatively high temperatures is expected to keep humidity levels high across Bihar over the next few days.
