Patna: People living outside Bihar and planning to return home for Dussehra, Diwali and Chhath Puja will have additional bus services from September 25, with around 145 buses scheduled to operate to Bihar from Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
The Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) will operate these services to facilitate the movement of passengers during the festive season, when demand for travel to Bihar is expected to increase.
Of the 145 buses, 50 will operate from Delhi, 30 from Haryana, 30 from Uttar Pradesh, 20 from West Bengal and 15 from Jharkhand.

Bus fares on key routes
For passengers travelling from Patna to Kolkata, the fare will be Rs 874 for a non-AC bus, Rs 939 for an AC seater and Rs 1,143 for an AC sleeper.
On the Patna-Ghaziabad route, passengers will have to pay Rs 1,544 for a non-AC bus, Rs 1,896 for an AC seater and Rs 2,823 for an AC sleeper.
The fare for Patna-Varanasi services has been fixed at Rs 435 for non-AC, Rs 531 for AC seater and Rs 601 for AC sleeper.
For Patna-Panipat, the fare will be Rs 1,483 for non-AC, Rs 1,811 for AC seater and Rs 2,727 for AC sleeper.
Passengers travelling between Patna and Ranchi will pay Rs 567 for a non-AC bus and Rs 690 for both AC seater and AC sleeper services.
On the Patna-Siliguri route, the fare will be Rs 752 for non-AC and Rs 915 for both AC seater and AC sleeper services.
