Patna : Bihar is likely to experience a gradual rise in temperatures over the next 48 hours, even as isolated parts of the state remain likely to receive light rain, according to the latest forecast issued by the Patna Meteorological Centre, on October 9.
The weather department reported rainfall at several locations during the past 24 hours. While parts of north-central and eastern Bihar received rain, maximum temperatures rose by 2–4°C in some areas of north-eastern and north-central Bihar.
For October 10, the department has forecast light rain at one or two places in north-western, north-central and north-eastern Bihar. Most southern districts are expected to remain dry.
Rain Forecast For Northern Bihar On October 10
According to the district-wise forecast, isolated rainfall is possible across three meteorological regions of Bihar on Saturday.
The districts where rain is possible include:
- North-western Bihar: West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan and Saran.
- North-central Bihar: Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Darbhanga, Samastipur and Madhubani.
- North-eastern Bihar: Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Madhepura and Saharsa.
The department has forecast rain at one or two places in these regions, rather than widespread rainfall across the state.
In contrast, south-western, south-central and south-eastern Bihar are expected to remain dry on October 10.
Temperatures May Reach 34°C
The weather department has forecast maximum temperatures of 30–32°C in north-western Bihar on October 10.
In the other five meteorological regions—north-central, north-eastern, south-western, south-central and south-eastern Bihar—maximum temperatures are likely to range between 32°C and 34°C.
Minimum temperatures across all six regions are expected to remain around 22–24°C.
The department has indicated that maximum temperatures may rise by 2–4°C at many places over the next 48 hours. No significant change is expected after this period.
Kishanganj Records 62.6 mm Rainfall
Several locations across Bihar recorded notable rainfall during the 24 hours preceding the latest bulletin.
Pothia in Kishanganj district recorded the highest rainfall at 62.6 mm, followed by other locations that also received substantial precipitation.

The rainfall figures indicate that precipitation remained concentrated in specific locations rather than being uniform across Bihar.
Bhabua Hottest, Valmikinagar Records Lowest Minimum
According to the weather department, Bhabua in Kaimur district recorded the highest maximum temperature on October 8 at 34.4°C.
On October 9, Valmikinagar in West Champaran recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 20.2°C.
The department also reported strong winds in parts of the state, with Madhubani recording wind speeds of up to 39 kmph during the preceding 24 hours.
What To Expect In Bihar Over The Next Two Days
The latest forecast points to a combination of isolated rainfall and rising temperatures. Northern districts may receive light rain on October 10, while much of southern Bihar is likely to remain dry.
With maximum temperatures expected to rise by 2–4°C over the next 48 hours, residents should prepare for warmer daytime conditions.
