Patna: Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) Managing Director Naveen Kumar, IAS, has directed officials to take time-bound action on unauthorised construction, encroachments, waste dumping and infrastructure maintenance issues in Patna’s Patliputra Industrial Area.
During an inspection on Saturday, Kumar reviewed industrial units, data centre facilities and infrastructure, assessing concerns related to traffic management, sanitation, unauthorised use of land and road maintenance.
He instructed the concerned officials to address the issues within the stipulated time frame and ensure compliance with applicable rules.
Industrial Units And Infrastructure Inspected
During the visit, the BIADA managing director inspected several industrial and commercial establishments, including Ravi Industry, Recon Engicon Pvt. Ltd., UNO Digital Pvt. Ltd., SLMG Beverage Pvt. Ltd., Prius System LLP, CtrlS, Ambe Infra Green LLP and Aeron Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.
Other establishments visited included Bihar Trade Tower, Vijayam Educational Trust, Maa Re Rolling Mill, Puja Printech Pvt. Ltd., Satya Enterprises, Eclet Industries Ltd., Civ Mill Industries Pvt. Ltd., Tirupati Industries and Ruby Fastner.
The inspection covered infrastructure facilities and operational issues affecting the industrial area.
Access Control Planned At Entry Gates
To regulate private vehicle movement within the industrial area, Kumar directed officials to introduce an access control system at all entry gates.
He also instructed officials to take action under applicable rules against industrial units found storing construction materials without authorisation along the main and internal roads.
The measures are intended to reduce road obstructions, improve traffic movement and strengthen the management of shared industrial infrastructure.
BIADA Orders Waste Removal And Sanitation Measures
Sanitation was another key focus of the inspection.
Kumar directed officials to ensure the immediate removal of waste from the industrial area and conduct awareness campaigns through public announcements.
Notices are also to be issued to industrial units to discourage waste dumping along roadsides. Officials have been instructed to take appropriate action against violations under the applicable rules.
The directions aim to improve cleanliness and prevent roadsides from becoming dumping points.
Notice Planned Over Construction On BIADA Land
The managing director directed officials to act against unauthorised vehicle parking on BIADA land near the Polytechnic and Sai Temple.
He also instructed officials to issue a notice to the management of Sai Temple regarding alleged unauthorised construction on BIADA land.
The directions are intended to ensure that land under the authority’s control is used in accordance with applicable rules.
BUIDCO Asked To Address Road Restoration Issue
Reviewing infrastructure maintenance, Kumar took note of a road that had reportedly not been restored to its original condition after sewer line repair work undertaken by the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO).
He directed officials to send a formal communication to BUIDCO seeking recovery of the estimated cost of road restoration.
The issue was raised as part of the wider review of infrastructure upkeep and accountability in the industrial area.
BIADA Engineers To Monitor Construction
Kumar instructed BIADA engineers to conduct periodic inspections of construction undertaken by industrial units.
The engineers will check whether building work conforms to plans approved by BIADA-empanelled architects and complies with the applicable requirements.
The measure is intended to strengthen oversight of construction activities and improve adherence to approved building plans.
Officials Directed To Complete Corrective Action On Time
The managing director directed the Executive Director (Operations) to ensure that the issues identified during the inspection are addressed.
The concerned Deputy General Manager and other officials have also been instructed to monitor progress regularly and complete corrective measures within the stipulated deadlines.
Kumar emphasised accountability, timely execution and strict compliance with applicable rules.
BIADA Focuses On Industrial Infrastructure
BIADA said regular inspections, regulated land use, infrastructure maintenance and enforcement of applicable rules are important for developing a clean, safe and well-organised industrial environment.
The authority aims to improve industrial facilities and strengthen an investor-friendly ecosystem to support industrial development across Bihar.
