Buxar to Illuminate with 1.25 Lakh Diyas on Dev Deepawali, Plans Set to Beautify 10 Major Ghats
Patna: Preparations are in full swing in Buxar to celebrate Dev Deepawali, with plans to adorn 10 major ghats in the district with a dazzling display of 1.25 lakh clay lamps. The organizing committee has ordered these diyas from local potters, aiming to create a spectacular scene across the ghats. A meeting was recently held at the Adarsh Goshala in the city to finalize the festival arrangements.
Led by administrative officer and BJP leader Manoj Rai, the meeting set a target to light the diyas across the ghats, filling Buxar with a glow of celebration on November 15. The allocation of diyas includes 25,000 at Ramrekha Ghat, 10,000 each at Sumeshwar Sthan and Siddhnath Ghats, and smaller amounts at other locations, ensuring a well-lit and festive ambiance across all areas.
Ramrekha Ghat will host the largest display, while other popular spots, including Bangla Ghat, Suraj Ghat, and Golaghat, will each feature thousands of lamps. Even smaller ghats, such as Phua Ghat, are part of the decoration plan. Committees responsible for the best arrangements will receive special recognition for their efforts.
To encourage involvement from Buxar residents who live outside the district, a plan has been set for them to participate by lighting diyas at their homes and sharing photos on Facebook. This gesture will allow them to feel connected to the festivities back home.
Suggestions were also made by the committee members to enhance the festival’s appeal, ensuring a grand celebration that brings together the community and showcases the beauty of Dev Deepawali in Buxar.
