Gaya/Patna: An IndiGo flight at Gaya Airport was brought back to its parking area on Sunday after a female passenger allegedly got into an altercation with a crew member over a mobile phone she had left behind at the terminal.
The aircraft had moved from the parking area towards the runway and was preparing to depart for Kolkata when the dispute escalated. The pilot informed Air Traffic Control (ATC), following which the aircraft returned to the parking bay and the passenger was deboarded.
The airline subsequently filed a case against the woman, identified as Asha Rajendra Krishnamurthy.
Dispute Over Missing Mobile Phone
According to reports, the IndiGo flight had arrived in Gaya from Delhi and was scheduled to depart for Kolkata with passengers on board.
The woman reportedly realised that she had left her mobile phone at the airport terminal and became involved in an argument with a crew member while attempting to retrieve it.
Despite repeated attempts to reason with her, she allegedly remained uncooperative. The situation escalated, prompting the pilot to inform ATC and return the aircraft to the parking area.
It took considerable effort to deboard the passenger, who was seated in seat 17-C, according to reports.
Passenger Handed Over To Police
After being deboarded, the woman was handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Following the completion of the required formalities, she was transferred to Magadh Medical Police Station.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, while the airline has filed a case against the passenger over her alleged behaviour towards the crew member.
The flight subsequently resumed its journey to Kolkata after the passenger was removed from the aircraft.
