Saksham Ranjan of Motihari Becomes Third Person from City to Appear on KBC, Talks About His Experience
Motihari: Thirteen-year-old Saksham Ranjan from Motihari has realised his dream by sitting on the hot seat of Kaun Banega Crorepati Junior, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. Saksham’s episode is set to air on 15th November 2024. He becomes the third person from Motihari to appear on the show, following in the footsteps of Sushil Kumar, who won ₹5 crore in 2011, and Sanjeev Kumar Sah, who participated in 2001. Saksham described his experience as surreal, saying that sitting in front of Bachchan felt like a dream come true.
Saksham’s journey to KBC Junior began with encouragement from his grandmother, who urged him to register for the show. After a lengthy selection process, he received the call and was chosen to participate. Saksham shared that while the questions initially seemed easy, they grew more challenging as the prize money increased. However, he admitted that he was unable to answer as many questions as he hoped due to the time constraints.
Saksham’s elder sister, Samridhi, a 10th grader, also registered for the show but did not make it. Despite not being selected, she expressed her happiness for her brother’s success, saying that their school’s recognition has grown because of his achievement. Saksham’s parents, Pranav Kumar, a headmaster at Piprakothi Primary School, and Reena Kumari, a housewife, are immensely proud of his accomplishment. His father jokingly mentioned that people now recognise him by Saksham’s name.
This achievement has once again put Motihari in the spotlight, marking the city’s third KBC connection. Sushil Kumar’s historic ₹5 crore win in 2011 continues to be remembered, and now Saksham’s participation adds another remarkable chapter to the city’s legacy.
