Army Recruitment in Danapur Postponed to November 28 Due to Overcrowding

Patna: The Territorial Army recruitment scheduled to be held tomorrow at Danapur Cantonment has been postponed to November 28 after an unexpected surge in crowd numbers. ASP Bhanu Pratap Singh stated that the recruitment will now proceed district-wise to prevent further issues caused by overcrowding.

On the fifth day of the recruitment process, approximately 25,000 to 30,000 candidates from across Bihar gathered at Kariyappa Ground, which has a capacity of only 1,500-2,000. As a result, candidates left outside the venue, caused a disturbance. Police had to intervene, using mild force to disperse the crowd and restore order.

Danapur CDPO Divya Shakti, City SP Western Sarath RS, SDPO Bhanu Pratap Singh, BDO Vibhesh Anand, and CO Chandan Kumar, along with officers from multiple police stations, worked together to control the situation. The chaos was eventually brought under control after hours of coordinated efforts.

The recruitment drive, intended to fill 62 posts in the Territorial Army, faced challenges due to the overwhelming number of applicants. Army officials have yet to comment on the incident. The revised schedule aims to ensure a smoother and more manageable recruitment process.
