Special Saharsa-Patna Train to Run for Four Days to Manage Post-Chhath Rush
Patna: The operating period of the unreserved special train 05563/05564 running between Saharsa and Patna has been extended to address the increased passenger rush following Chhath Puja. The train will now operate from November 16 to November 19, completing four additional rounds during this period.
The Saharsa-Patna unreserved special, with 13 coaches, including 11 general class and 2 SLR coaches, is being operated via Mansi, Khagaria, New Barauni, and Mokama. Train 05563 departs Saharsa daily at 7:30 AM, reaching Patna Junction by 12:00 PM, with multiple stops along the way. The return service, 05564, leaves Patna at 1:30 PM and arrives in Saharsa at 6:00 PM.
The extension decision comes as East Central Railway anticipates a heavy influx of passengers travelling back to their destinations after the Chhath festival. Chief Public Relations Officer of East Central Railway, Hajipur, Saraswati Chandra, confirmed the move in an official press release, emphasising the effort to provide additional convenience to travellers.
The unreserved special service is expected to alleviate the congestion in regular trains and ensure smoother travel for passengers during this peak festive period.
