Patna: A high-speed car crash near Mahesh Nagar on Atal Path in Patna left a vehicle badly damaged after it reportedly struck a road divider, became airborne and landed on the opposite side of the road.

The collision was reportedly forceful enough to throw the car across the divider, drawing attention from people at the scene. The vehicle’s registration number was reported as BR 03 AA 8500.

According to eyewitness accounts, two young men were inside the car at the time of the accident. Both allegedly left the scene following the crash. Police have removed the damaged vehicle and are investigating the incident.

Eyewitness Claims Car Was Travelling At Around 100 Kmph

An eyewitness identified as Gaurav said the car was approaching from the Digha side at considerable speed. He estimated that it was travelling at around 100 kilometres per hour, although the vehicle’s actual speed has not been independently confirmed.

According to his account, the driver lost control of the car, which first hit the divider before being thrown across to the opposite side of the road.

The impact left the vehicle severely damaged. The precise circumstances of the crash, including the car’s speed and the reason the driver lost control, have not yet been established.

Two Occupants Allegedly Flee After Accident

Eyewitnesses claimed that two young men were travelling in the car when the accident occurred. They alleged that both occupants fled the scene shortly after the collision.

Witnesses further claimed that an acquaintance of the occupants arrived a short time later and was seen breaking the vehicle’s rear number plate. The reported incident has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the accident.

However, the identities of the two occupants and the reasons for their alleged departure remain unclear. The claim concerning the number plate has not been independently verified.

Gandhi Maidan Police Remove Damaged Vehicle

Police from Gandhi Maidan police station arranged for the damaged car to be towed away from the road.

The police are investigating the crash and attempting to identify the people who were allegedly inside the vehicle. Investigators are also seeking to establish the sequence of events leading to the collision and what happened after the car came to a halt.

Details about possible injuries, the identities of those involved and any further police action were not available in the initial report.

Investigation Underway

The accident has drawn attention to the risks associated with high-speed driving on urban roads. However, the exact cause of the crash will need to be established through the investigation.

Police are expected to examine the available evidence and eyewitness accounts to determine the circumstances of the incident. The allegations that the occupants fled and that the rear number plate was broken also remain to be verified.

Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
