Patna: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna, is hosting a three-day Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp on its campus from November 3 to 5, in collaboration with the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Patna, under the Ministry of External Affairs.
The initiative, titled Passport Seva – Passport at Your Doorstep, aims to make passport-related services more accessible to the institute’s faculty members, doctors, students, employees and their family members.
The camp was inaugurated by AIIMS Patna Executive Director and CEO Prof. (Brig.) Dr Raju Agarwal. Deputy Director (Administration) Nilotpal Bal, Senior Administrative Officer Raj Kumar Jalan, faculty members, doctors, nursing staff and other institute employees attended the inauguration.
165 Applicants to Be Covered in Three Days
The camp is designed to serve 165 applicants, with 55 appointments scheduled each day.
Through the mobile van facility, applicants can complete essential passport application formalities, including document verification and biometric data collection, within the AIIMS Patna campus. This removes the need for separate visits to a Passport Seva Kendra for these procedures.
Convenience for Doctors and Students
The initiative is particularly useful for doctors, faculty members and students whose professional and academic commitments can make it difficult to visit passport service centres during regular working hours.
The on-campus facility is intended to reduce the time and effort involved in completing passport application procedures.
Second Such Camp at AIIMS Patna
This is the second Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp organised at AIIMS Patna in collaboration with the Regional Passport Office.
The first camp was held from March 3 to 5, 2025. The continuation of the initiative reflects the partnership between the two institutions to bring essential public services closer to the institute community.
AIIMS Patna has acknowledged the support of the Regional Passport Office in organising the camp and facilitating access to passport services on campus.
