Patna : The Regional Passport Office (RPO), Patna, is organising a three-day Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna, from November 3 to 5, bringing passport application services directly to the institution’s campus.
The camp is being conducted under the Ministry of External Affairs’ citizen-centric initiative, ‘Passport Seva – Passport at Your Doorstep’. It is intended to facilitate passport services for AIIMS faculty members, doctors, students and their family members without requiring them to travel to a regular passport service centre.
The three-day camp has a capacity of 165 applicants, with 55 appointments scheduled each day. Applicants can complete essential application formalities at the campus, including document verification and biometric data collection.
165 Applicants To Be Covered In Three Days
The mobile van camp has been organised to accommodate 55 applicants daily over three days. The facility is expected to be particularly useful for doctors, faculty members and students whose professional and academic schedules may make travel to a passport service centre difficult.
By bringing the service to the AIIMS campus, the RPO aims to make the application process more accessible and reduce the time applicants need to spend travelling for passport-related formalities.
The mobile facility enables applicants to complete key stages of the process, including verification of documents and collection of biometric information, within the institutional premises.
AIIMS Patna Director Inaugurates Mobile Van Camp
The camp was inaugurated on November 3 by AIIMS Patna Director Professor (Brigadier) Dr Raju Agarwal.
Members of the AIIMS community participated in the initiative, while the institute’s administration supported arrangements for the smooth conduct of the camp.
The collaboration between AIIMS Patna and RPO Patna is aimed at making passport services more convenient for members of the healthcare and academic community.
Second Mobile Van Camp At AIIMS Patna
The November 2026 camp is the second Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp organised by RPO Patna at AIIMS Patna.
The first such camp was held from March 3 to 5, 2025. The latest initiative continues the regional passport office’s efforts to provide institutional outreach services to the healthcare fraternity at AIIMS.
Such camps allow applicants to access passport-related facilities at their workplace or educational institution, reducing the need for long-distance travel.

Apart from AIIMS Patna, the Regional Passport Office has organised similar outreach camps at several educational institutions across Bihar.
These include IIM Bodh Gaya, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Patna, Nalanda University and Bhagalpur College of Engineering.
The initiative forms part of the Ministry of External Affairs’ efforts to improve passport service delivery through institutional partnerships and digital facilitation.
