Preparations Complete for PACS Elections in Patna District, Voting in 63 PACS on November 26
Patna: Administrative preparations for the Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) elections in Patna district have been finalized. In the first phase, voting will take place on November 26 across 63 PACS in eight blocks, including Dulhin Bazar, Danapur, Naubatpur, Patna Sadar, Punpun, Phulwari Sharif, Paliganj, and Masaurhi. A total of 174 polling stations have been set up, and voting will be conducted from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. The counting of votes is scheduled for November 27.
Security has been tightened for the elections, with one Police Constable Cum Polling Personnel (PCCP) assigned to every three polling booths. Additionally, police officers, forces, and sector magistrates have been deployed as required, with one sector magistrate stationed at every eight booths to ensure smooth conduct.
Out of the total PACS in the first phase, elections in 14 have been decided unopposed, and voting has been postponed in one PACS due to a lack of quorum. For the first phase, one counting centre and strong room have been established in each block.
Patna district has 223 PACS, where elections are being conducted in three phases. The first phase is on November 26, the third phase on November 29, and the fifth on December 3. In the third phase, voting will occur in 72 PACS of six blocks—Khusrupur, Daniyawan, Dhanarua, Fatuha, Bihta, and Maner—with 225 polling stations set up. In the fifth phase, voting will take place in 66 PACS of eight blocks—Athmalgola, Pandarak, Bakhtiyarpur, Barh, Vikram, Mokama, Belchi, and Ghoswari—across 115 polling stations.
