Ahmedabad: On Thursday, a serious plane crash took place at Ahmedabad airport in Gujarat, causing shock across the country. The Air India flight, which was flying from Ahmedabad to London, crashed shortly after takeoff. There were 242 people on board, including 169 Indian citizens, 53 British citizens, 7 Portuguese nationals, and 1 Canadian. Many were injured and taken to nearby hospitals. The airport has been temporarily closed to the public.
Bihar’s Road Construction Minister and BJP MLA Nitin Nabin expressed deep sadness over the accident. He said, “This is a very painful incident. It is not just a loss for Gujarat, but for the entire nation. We send our deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and pray for the quick recovery of those who are injured.”
The minister praised the efforts of the airport authority, doctors, disaster management teams, and the administration for acting quickly. He said that all possible help is being given to the injured. A help desk has been set up outside Ahmedabad airport to assist the families of passengers involved in the crash.
