Patna: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences Patna, in collaboration with the SC/ST Employees Welfare Association, AIIMS Patna, organized a grand programme to commemorate the 135th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar at the institute auditorium.
The programme was graced by distinguished dignitaries. The Chief Patron, Prof. (Brig.) Dr. Raju Agarwal, Executive Director and CEO, AIIMS Patna, presided over the event and highlighted the enduring relevance of Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals in contemporary society.
The Guests of Honour included Shri Shyam Rajak, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly and former Minister, Government of Bihar, followed by Padmashree Dr. Bhim Singh Bhavesh, eminent social activist and journalist. Their insightful addresses inspired the audience with messages of equality, dignity, and social justice.
Among the other distinguished dignitaries present were Prof. (Dr.) Poonam Prasad Bhadani, Dean (Academic); Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Pandey, Dean (Research); Prof. (Dr.) Arun Prasad, Liaison Officer (SC/ST Cell); Dr. Rathish Nair, Principal, College of Nursing & CNO; and Dr. Sanjib Ghosh, In-charge Medical Superintendent.
The programme commenced with lamp lighting and floral tribute to Dr. Ambedkar. This was followed by an enlightening session on the life history and contributions of Dr. Ambedkar, delivered by Dr. Pramod Kumar Manjhi, which deeply resonated with the audience.
The event also featured addresses by dignitaries, felicitation of the honoured guests, cultural performances, and a screening of a film based on Dr. Ambedkar’s life, making the programme both informative and inspiring.
The programme was successfully organized under the leadership of Dr. Ashok Kumar Rastogi, President of the SC/ST Employees Welfare Association, AIIMS Patna, along with the significant contribution of Prof. (Dr.) Arun Prasad, Liaison Officer (SC/ST Cell), who played a key role in organizing the programme.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming the commitment of AIIMS Patna to uphold the ideals of equality, dignity, and social justice as envisioned by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
