Patna: An Air India flight from Delhi to Patna was diverted to Varanasi on Saturday evening following adverse weather conditions, including heavy rain, strong winds and poor runway visibility in the Bihar capital.

Flight AI-1014, carrying 173 passengers, had taken off from Delhi on schedule and reached Patna airspace, but was unable to land due to turbulent conditions. After circling in the air for some time, the pilot was instructed to divert and sought clearance to land at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi.

The aircraft safely landed at Babatpur Airport at 6:15pm, offering passengers a much-needed sigh of relief after an extended period of uncertainty mid-air. After a wait of over an hour, and once weather conditions in Patna improved, the flight departed for its original destination at 7:20pm.
