Gayaji: Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai visited the world-famous Vishnupad Temple in Gayaji on Thursday and offered prayers to Lord Vishnu. After the visit, he expressed strong confidence in Congress’s success in Bihar, saying the party was set for a huge win under the guidance of Rahul Gandhi. “Our leader Rahul Gandhi’s blessings stand like a rock with the Congress party. Our Gayaji candidate Mohan Srivastava is winning the election with a landslide majority,” Rai said while speaking to reporters.
Rai’s temple visit was part of his campaign tour across Bihar. He performed rituals and prayed for the well-being of the nation and the people of Bihar. “Coming here, we sought blessings from Lord Vishnu. On this day, we pray for the well-being of the entire country and Bihar. Bihar is backward, and I pray for employment for its people,” he said. The Congress leader also added that the party is focused on improving people’s lives through job creation and social welfare.
Highlighting the partnership between Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Rai said the alliance was committed to bringing development and change to Bihar. “The Congress and RJD are working together to ensure progress and justice for everyone,” he stated. He praised Mohan Srivastava as a capable leader who has earned the people’s trust and will secure a decisive victory in Gayaji.
Rai also mentioned independent leader Pappu Yadav, acknowledging his popularity among voters. “Pappu Yadav is winning the election as an independent. The people are making him win because he stands with them,” he said. Concluding his remarks, Rai emphasised the need for a government that works closely with the common people. “What is needed here is a government that stands with the people and serves them,” he said. His visit to the holy Vishnupad Temple added a spiritual tone to the campaign trail, blending faith and politics in the heart of Bihar.
