
Sitamarhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone of a grand temple dedicated to Maa Janaki in Sitamarhi on August 8. This information was shared by Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai while talking to journalists in Sitamarhi on Saturday. He said this is a historic occasion and a moment of pride for Bihar.
The ceremony will take place at Punauradham, which is believed to be the birthplace of Mother Sita. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will attend the event as the chief guest. Nityanand Rai said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar are committed to the development of Sitamarhi. The temple area will be developed on the lines of Ayodhya to promote religious tourism.
Earlier, Nityanand Rai visited the Janaki temple at Punaura and performed prayers before inspecting the site for the foundation stone laying. He was accompanied by Sitamarhi MP Devesh Chandra Thakur, State Tourism Minister Raju Singh, Minister of Art-Culture and Youth Department Motilal Prasad, city MLA Dr Mithilesh Kumar, MLA Gayatri Devi, Mahant Mohan Das, and other leaders.
Preparations for the event are being carried out with the help of the district administration. Many BJP leaders, local officials, and workers were present at the site. Nityanand Rai said that building the temple will not only strengthen the religious importance of Sitamarhi but also bring economic and social development to the area. He urged people to support the project and make it a historic success.
