Gopalganj / Patna : Preparations are underway in Gopalganj as Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to kickstart the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Bihar assembly election campaign with a massive rally on March 30. The BJP expects over one lakh party workers to attend the event, which is being positioned as the party’s first major show of strength ahead of the polls.
Shah is scheduled to arrive in Patna on March 29
for a two-day visit, during which he will attend a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting before heading to Gopalganj the next day. BJP’s core leadership, including Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai, will oversee the preparations for the rally. Rai is expected to reach Gopalganj late on 23 March and hold discussions with the BJP core committee to assess the readiness for the event.
Venue Finalisation Underway
According to BJP district president Sandeep Giri, three potential sites have been shortlisted for the rally: Tilangahi ground, Danapur ground, and Thave Home Guard ground. One of these locations will be finalised soon to host the event, which the BJP sees as a crucial step in mobilising support ahead of the elections.
“This rally will be BJP’s first significant public meeting before the assembly elections and is being viewed as the party’s ‘shankhnad’ (war cry) for the upcoming polls,” said Giri. He added that enthusiasm is high among party workers, who are eager to ensure the success of the event.
Strategic Significance for BJP
Party insiders believe that the Gopalganj rally will help bolster BJP’s presence not only in the district but also in the surrounding areas. The event is expected to energise the cadre and send a strong message about the party’s preparedness and unity.
