Assembly Conference in Patna to Be a Zero Waste Event

Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation has announced that the upcoming conference at the assembly premises will be organized as a zero waste event. This initiative aligns with the corporation’s ongoing efforts to improve performance in the Swachh Survekshan. The 85th All India Presiding Officers Conference, scheduled to begin on January 20, will follow sustainable waste management practices.

The event will witness the participation of Speakers, Deputy Speakers, and Chairpersons of Legislative Councils from across the country. Patna Municipal Corporation has previously made events like Prakash Parv and Saras Mela zero waste. This marks the first time such a major conference has been included in the initiative.

The inaugural session will take place in the Central Hall on January 20, followed by discussion sessions in the Legislative Assembly on January 20 and 21. Patna Municipal Corporation has ensured that arrangements are in place to manage dry and wet waste generated during the two-day event.

Recycling and composting of waste will be conducted within the assembly premises itself, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable practices and setting a benchmark for other events.
