Begusarai: An 8-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Begusarai on Saturday night. The girl had gone to see a fair with her family when she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted. The police found her unconscious and semi-naked near a chimney at 2 a.m.
The victim was taken to Sadar Hospital Begusarai for treatment, where her condition remains critical. According to the family, the girl had gone to the fair with her sister, a friend, younger brother, and father. When her younger brother became sleepy, the father asked the victim to wait at a spot while he took his second daughter and son home.
When the victim was not found at the agreed place, the family started searching for her. They later received information about a girl being found unconscious and identified her at the hospital. It is unclear whether the girl was raped by one person or multiple assailants. She regained consciousness briefly and indicated that four boys had taken her away.
The police are investigating the incident and have sent the FSL team to the crime scene. The family claims that a cyclist lured the girl and took her to a secluded area where he raped her. The girl was unable to provide her name or address.
