Patna: Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. (BELTRON), an undertaking of the Bihar government, has emerged as a major provider of secure and long-term employment for the state’s youth, employing more than 19,000 people so far with assurances of job security until the age of 60.
Officials said the recruitment process, conducted transparently through Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), ensures fair selection. Once recruited, employees are guaranteed not only stability but also a 10% annual salary increase, which has strengthened financial security and reduced job uncertainty.
The initiative has been particularly significant for young people from rural and remote areas, who now find opportunities to work in roles such as data entry operators, programmers, and stenographers, directly engaging with the state’s administrative machinery. By doing so, Beltron has played a key role in empowering youth and enabling self-reliance.
The enterprise is also being positioned as a bridge to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s vision of an “Empowered Bihar through Employment.” Officials said that the programme is helping thousands of families achieve economic empowerment and contribute to the state’s development.
In line with state policy, Beltron’s recruitment adheres to reservation norms, ensuring representation for SC, ST, OBC and women candidates. The approach, officials stressed, promotes social justice alongside inclusive economic growth.
