Bhojpuri Dabangs Face Must-Win Clash Against Chennai Rhinos to Keep CCL Semi-Final Hopes Alive

New Delhi/ Patna: The Bhojpuri Dabangs are gearing up for a decisive showdown with Chennai Rhinos in their final league match of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) 2025 on February 22, with the hopes of securing a spot in the semi-finals. The match, which will take place in Surat, is a crucial one for the Dabangs, who have experienced a mixed run in the competition so far, winning one of their three matches and losing two.

Captain Manoj Tiwari, a BJP MP, expressed confidence in his team’s ability to rebound from recent setbacks and finish the league stage on a high note. “Our goal is clear – to forget the defeats and focus on registering a win. We will give it our all,” Tiwari said ahead of the encounter.

The Dabangs began their campaign with a convincing 8-wicket win over Mumbai Heroes, but their subsequent encounters have been far from straightforward. In a pair of thrilling contests, they narrowly lost to Telugu Warriors and Punjab Lions, leaving their semi-final hopes hanging in the balance.

Currently sitting third in the points table with two points and a run rate of 0.49, the Dabangs know that a victory against Chennai Rhinos will significantly bolster their chances of progressing to the next stage. A win would not only secure their qualification but also provide a much-needed boost to the team’s morale as they head into the semi-finals.

Tiwari praised his team’s performances thus far, stating that they had exceeded expectations despite the narrow defeats. “We’ve fought hard in every match. The close losses were disappointing, but the team remains upbeat and determined to give our best in this final league match.”
