Patna: The District Education Office (DEO) of Patna is preparing to blacklist 162 private schools for failing to submit student data on the Education Department’s e-Shikshakosh portal. Despite repeated orders, these schools have not complied with the mandatory requirement of uploading student details, prompting the DEO to take strict action.

According to District Education Officer Sanjay Kumar, the schools have been warned multiple times about their obligation to provide the necessary data, but they have ignored the directives. As a result, their registration may be cancelled, and their names will be added to the blacklist, effectively barring them from enrolling students in the future.

In addition to the data submission requirement, the DEO has announced that all registered schools will undergo inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. During these inspections, authorities will check the number of school buses in operation and verify the identification of all staff members, who must have Aadhaar cards.

Sanjay Kumar emphasized that the submission of student data on the portal is mandatory for all private schools. Failure to comply may result not only in the cancellation of their registration but also in financial penalties. Notices are already being issued to non-compliant schools.

Of the more than 1,100 private schools registered in Patna district, 85% have already submitted the required student data on the e-Shiksha Kosh portal. However, 162 schools have yet to follow suit, despite clear orders from the Education Department. Schools are required to submit data for students who have Aadhaar cards and must also possess a UDISE (Unified District Information System for Education) number, a mandatory identification code for all schools.
