New Delhi: The Government of Bihar’s Agriculture Department has been awarded the prestigious Skoch Gold Award 2025 for its innovative “Bihar Agriculture App,” receiving national recognition at the 102nd edition of the Scotch Awards in New Delhi.
The app, developed to support the state’s farming community, serves as an integrated digital platform providing essential information and services to farmers. It offers guidance on modern crop management techniques, updates on government schemes, market prices, training materials, and technical support, enabling lakhs of farmers to access reliable agricultural information directly on their devices.
Speaking at the event, Principal Secretary of the Agriculture Department, Pankaj Kumar, said: “The Scotch Gold Award 2025 is a significant achievement for Bihar’s digital initiatives aimed at empowering farmers. This recognition motivates us to make digital services simpler, more accessible, and more effective. The government remains committed to the prosperity of farmers and the modernization of agriculture in the state.”
The Bihar Agriculture App has been credited with improving crop quality, reducing production costs, and boosting yields, while also connecting farmers directly to markets to ensure fair pricing for their produce.
The award highlights Bihar’s commitment to leveraging technology in agriculture, demonstrating the state’s push towards self-reliant farming and farmer-centric digital innovation.
