Katihar: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the cancellation and partial curtailment of several train services between December 1, 2025, and March 3, 2026, as part of its precautionary measures to ensure safe and smooth train operations during the foggy season.
According to NFR officials, the decision aims to maintain safety, punctuality, and operational efficiency amid poor visibility conditions caused by dense fog across northern and eastern India during winter months.
In an official statement, Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of the NFR, said, “The railway administration is fully vigilant regarding passenger safety. To prevent disruptions and ensure operational safety, select trains will remain cancelled or have reduced frequency during the foggy period.”
Full Train Cancellations
The following trains will remain fully cancelled during the foggy season:
- Train No. 15903 (Dibrugarh – Chandigarh Express): Cancelled from December 1, 2025, to February 27, 2026.
- Train No. 15904 (Chandigarh – Dibrugarh Express): Cancelled from December 3, 2025, to March 1, 2026.
- Train No. 15620 (Kamakhya – Gaya Express): Cancelled from December 1, 2025, to February 23, 2026.
- Train No. 15619 (Gaya – Kamakhya Express): Cancelled from December 2, 2025, to February 24, 2026.
- Train No. 15621 (Kamakhya – Anand Vihar Terminal Express): Cancelled from December 4, 2025, to February 26, 2026.
- Train No. 15622 (Anand Vihar Terminal – Kamakhya Express): Cancelled from December 5, 2025, to February 27, 2026.
Reduced Frequency of Train Services
In addition, NFR has reduced the frequency of several major trains during this period:
- Train No. 12505 (Kamakhya – Anand Vihar Terminal North East Express): Cancelled every Wednesday and Sunday from December 3, 2025, to February 25, 2026.
- Train No. 12506 (Anand Vihar Terminal – Kamakhya North East Express): Cancelled every Friday and Tuesday from December 5, 2025, to February 27, 2026.
- Train No. 15483 (Alipurduar – Delhi Sikkim Mahananda Express): Cancelled every Wednesday and Saturday from December 3, 2025, to February 28, 2026.
- Train No. 15484 (Delhi – Alipurduar Sikkim Mahananda Express): Cancelled every Friday and Monday from December 5, 2025, to February 27, 2026.
- Train No. 12523 (New Jalpaiguri – New Delhi Express): Cancelled every Tuesday from December 2, 2025, to February 24, 2026.
- Train No. 12524 (New Delhi – New Jalpaiguri Express): Cancelled every Wednesday from December 3, 2025, to February 25, 2026.
- Train No. 15909 (Dibrugarh – Lalgarh Junction Avadh Assam Express): Cancelled every Saturday from December 6, 2025, to February 28, 2026.
- Train No. 15910 (Lalgarh Junction – Dibrugarh Avadh Assam Express): Cancelled every Tuesday from December 9, 2025, to March 3, 2026.

The NFR has advised passengers to verify the operational status of their trains before travel. Updated information regarding cancellations and revised schedules is available on the IRCTC website and the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) app.
Railway officials emphasized that these adjustments are temporary and necessary to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of passengers and train crews during reduced visibility conditions in winter.
