Patna: The Bihar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17 by organising a state-wide Seva Pakhwada, which will continue until October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Party leaders announced that this year’s programme will include a “Maha Sampark Abhiyan”, under which workers will visit households across Bihar to inform people about the achievements and schemes of the central and state governments. A preparatory workshop and organisational meeting were held at the BJP state office, where upcoming strategies and activities were discussed.
BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal said the outreach drive would serve both as a service initiative and a contact campaign, with an emphasis on engaging directly with the public. He also criticised the Congress for a controversial social media post that compared Bihar to a bidi while commenting on GST. Dilip said such remarks showed Congress’s “trivial view” of Bihar and its people.
He further alleged that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) attempted to defame the statewide bandh on September 4 by orchestrating videos to misrepresent the protest on social media.
The Seva Pakhwada will include welfare activities, awareness programmes, and outreach events designed to coincide with PM Modi’s birthday celebrations
