Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates Rs 345.50 Crore Worth of Developmental Schemes in Kaimur

Bhabhua/Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today inaugurated and laid the foundation for 169 developmental schemes, valued at Rs 345.50 crore, through remote from the newly constructed Bazar Samiti campus in Mohania, Kaimur district. This initiative, part of the ongoing Pragati Yatra, includes 79 schemes worth Rs 233.29 crore and 90 schemes worth Rs 112.20 crore.

Among the highlights, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Panchayat Government Building in Bharkhar village, Mohania block, at a cost of Rs 1.11 crore. During the event, he also inspected the newly constructed facility, which houses a library, multiple staff rooms, and dedicated spaces for the Mukhiya and Up- Mukhiya. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of creating infrastructure that would benefit the community, suggesting that staircases be added to the nearby pond to assist during Chhath Puja.

In addition to the Panchayat building, the Chief Minister inaugurated several community projects, including a beautified pond, an open gym, and a Hariyali Park, all funded by MGNREGA. The pond, which cost Rs 9.50 lakh, now includes enhancements that will ease access for locals, especially during the Chhath festival. Nitish also highlighted the significance of developing walking paths along the pond to further improve the area for public use.

The Chief Minister took time to visit Bharkhar’s Upkramit Madhyamik Vidyalaya, inspecting its classrooms, science, and robotic labs. He interacted with students and teachers, expressing satisfaction with the educational facilities being provided.

As part of the event, CM Nitish presented symbolic cheques to beneficiaries of various schemes. This included Rs 7.86 crore under the Livelihood Investment Fund, Rs 216.82 crore in loans to self-help groups, and Rs 19.76 crore for community investments. The Chief Minister praised the efforts of Jeevika Didis, emphasizing the role of self-help groups in empowering women and transforming Bihar’s rural economy. He revealed that more than 3 lakh Jeevika Didis are now active in urban areas as well.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the renovated Krishi Utpadan Bazaar premises and visited the agriculture exhibition where various new agricultural technologies were on display. Additionally, he provided symbolic cheques for the establishment of custom hiring centres, benefiting local farmers.

In another notable inspection, CM Nitish visited the proposed site for a degree college in Adhaura block, which will serve approximately 50,000 people and reduce the need for students to travel for higher education. He also inaugurated a football stadium in Adhaura block under the Chief Minister Sports Development Scheme, engaging with local players.

The Chief Minister concluded the event by reviewing the Son-Kohira River Link Scheme, a major irrigation project set to benefit 10,000 hectares of farmland and a population of around 450,000 people across Chainpur, Chand, and Bhagwanpur blocks.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and several other senior officials, including Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, were present during the ceremony.
