Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates Xavier University in Patna

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated Xavier University in Patna on Saturday, unveiling the plaque and cutting the ceremonial ribbon. The event marks a significant milestone in the state’s education sector, with the institution poised to offer world-class academic opportunities.

Following the inauguration, CM Nitish toured the newly established university premises, interacting with faculty members and students of St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, which has now been elevated to university status.

Education Minister Sunil Kumar welcomed the Chief Minister with a bouquet, while the university administration honoured him with a shawl and a commemorative symbol. The inauguration was attended by several dignitaries, including Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Additional Chief Secretary (Education) Dr. S. Siddharth, District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, and Senior Superintendent of Police Avkash Kumar.

Spread over 36 acres in Digha Ghat, Xavier University, Patna, aims to foster academic excellence, character development, and research innovation. The university offers a diverse range of programmes, designed to equip students with the skills necessary to navigate an evolving global landscape.
