Patna: Panic spread in Bihar’s capital on Tuesday after the body of an unidentified young man was discovered on the busy GPO bridge, one of the city’s main traffic arteries. The incident sparked alarm among commuters and drew swift response from law enforcement.
The Jakkanpur police station team reached the location upon receiving the information, and a forensic science laboratory (FSL) unit also joined the investigation. Officers sealed the area temporarily as the FSL team collected samples and evidence from the scene.
The deceased remains unidentified, and efforts are underway to ascertain the young man’s identity. Passersby expressed shock at the sight of the body lying on the bridge, especially during morning traffic hours.
Police officials have not yet disclosed whether foul play is suspected, stating that a detailed investigation is ongoing. The body has been sent for postmortem examination, and CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being reviewed.
