Rajgir: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted an inspection of the Rajgir Sports Complex on Saturday, assessing various sections of both the indoor and outdoor stadiums, as well as the under-construction International Cricket Sports Academy. During his visit, Nitish directed officials to expedite the remaining construction work, emphasizing the need for maintaining high-quality standards to ensure world-class facilities in the sports academy.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the academy will be equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, making it a unique facility in the country. In addition to training centers for multiple sports, the complex will feature a world-class sports library, aimed at fostering a vibrant sports culture in Bihar and providing opportunities for talented youth.
Nitish also underscored Rajgir’s historical significance, noting that the city has become a major attraction for tourists, with comprehensive facilities in place. The development of the sports complex, he added, will further enhance Rajgir’s appeal.
The inspection was attended by several prominent figures, including Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar, MP Kaushalendra Kumar, MLA Krishna Murari Sharan, former MLA Chandrasen Kumar, former Legislative Councilor Raju Yadav, and other public representatives. Senior officials accompanying the Chief Minister included Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Principal Secretary Dr. S. Siddharth, Secretary Anupam Kumar, and Building Construction Department Secretary Kumar Ravi, among others.
