Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met 10 trainee IAS officers of the 2023 batch at ‘Sankalp’ in 1 Anne Marg, where they shared their experiences from district training. The officers, including six women and four men, hail from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

During the interaction, Kumar emphasized the crucial role of IAS officers in policy implementation. “The government formulates policies, but their success depends on how effectively they are implemented,” he told the officers.

Expressing delight over the increasing participation of women in governance, Kumar noted that six of the 10 officers were women. “Women are excelling in every field, which makes me very happy. Bihar was the first state to introduce 50% reservation for women in panchayat and municipal elections. As a result, more women are coming forward to represent society,” he said. He also highlighted the 35% reservation for women in police and government services, stating that Bihar has the highest number of women in law enforcement in the country.

The meeting was attended by Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration Department B. Rajender, Secretaries Anupam Kumar and Kumar Ravi, and Special Officer Gopal Singh.
