Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Reviews Road Widening Projects in Patna, Inspects Metro Rail Progress

Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday conducted an extensive inspection of road infrastructure projects across Patna district, focusing on the widening and strengthening of the road stretch from Hathikhana Mor to Chandmari. The route, which links several localities including Turha Toli, Kuhi Mor, DPS School, and Lodipur, is expected to serve as an additional corridor for commuters heading towards Usri-Chhitnawan, Shivala, Naubatpur, Bikam, Pali, Jehanabad and Ara.

This road connects with the Usri-Chhitnawan route inaugurated by the Chief Minister during the recent Pragati Yatra. Officials say the upgraded stretch will significantly ease traffic and improve access across the district’s western and southern belts.

During his visit, CM Nitish also inspected the Shivala railway overbridge (ROB) and reviewed plans for an adjoining ROB road near Shivala Mor. He made an unscheduled halt near Chandmari village and later at Sainik Mor in Danapur to assess construction quality and progress.

At Saguna Mor, the Chief Minister surveyed the Patna Metro rail development and directed officials to ensure timely completion and maintenance of the infrastructure. He emphasised the importance of speed and quality in ongoing projects.

Accompanying the Chief Minister were Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Chief Minister’s Secretary Kumar Ravi, Special Officer Gopal Singh, Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Avkash Kumar, and other senior officials.
