Patna: The Government of Bihar’s Department of Arts, Culture and Youth convened a high-level review meeting on Tuesday at the Bharatiya Nritya Kala Mandir in Patna, bringing together district-level cultural officials to assess ongoing schemes and challenges in the promotion of local art and heritage.
Chaired by the Minister for Arts and Culture, Motilal Prasad, the meeting focused on evaluating the progress of cultural programmes, implementation of artist support initiatives, and the execution of heritage preservation schemes across Bihar’s districts. Officials described the session as a “candid and constructive” dialogue between state leadership and local representatives.
“This government is serious about preserving and promoting Bihar’s rich cultural legacy,” said Prasad, adding that the administration is committed to providing artists and officials with “practical, on-the-ground solutions” to the challenges they face.
Senior officials present at the meeting included Pranav Kumar, Secretary of the Department; Rachna Patil, Director of Archaeology and Museums; Ruby, Director of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs; and Kahkashan, Administrative Officer of Bharatiya Nritya Kala Mandir.
The discussions highlighted a renewed emphasis on supporting cultural practitioners at the grassroots level, with the minister reiterating the importance of timely implementation and coordination to strengthen Bihar’s artistic ecosystem.
